Wireless healthcare a new growth area for the operators

BusinessWeek has been tracking large operators, Verizon, Sprint Nextel, AT&T, France Telecom's Orange, Vodafone, Sweden's Doro and, from Japan, NTT DoCoMo and KDDI on their mobile healthcare strategy. Vodafone's venture fund two years ago bought a stake in t+Medical which is a wireless monitoring technology company.

The well entrenched large players such as GE Healthcare, Siemens, Philips and Intel are also developing technology and devices for m-Health
